Spot Whiskey

A Case Study.

Colour has been part of Spot Whiskey's story for 100 years, and to mark this milestone, we created a limited-edition paint colour with the Irish whiskey distillery.

YesColours

A Century of Colour.

To honour this legacy, YesColours’ creative team delved into Spot Whiskey’s archives, unearthing the story of colour as a defining part of the brand’s identity and translating it into a shade designed for homes and interiors today.

Also identifing an opportunity for Spot Whiskey to confidently evolve its creative expression, moving beyond traditional whiskey marketing to embrace a broader, more inclusive audience. With YesColours' audience split 60/40 female to male, there was clear potential to engage demographics historically underrepresented in whiskey marketing.

The Shade: Green Spot.

A limited-edition Green Spot paint  honouring craftsmanship, heritage, and innovation. The new Green Spot shade is more than a colour – it’s a story. It celebrates the deep, restorative power of green - a colour rooted in nature and rich with emotional meaning. From the lush Ballyannan Woods in Midleton (near Spot Whiskey’s distillery), to tranquil forests across the world.

Green has long symbolised growth, balance, and renewal, making it one of the most calming hues in the spectrum. It’s proven to lower stress, encourage relaxation, and restore mental clarity. Surrounded by green, our bodies respond instinctively: cortisol levels drop, heart rates steady, and we feel more grounded.

YesColours

The Result.

Honouring tradition through colour, creativity and craftsmanship.

The Spot Whiskey collaboration demonstrates how bespoke colour creation and strategic campaign development give brands distinct, tangible identity—empowering teams to communicate with clarity and confidence. The campaign reached a new audience while deepening connection with existing devotees.

For heritage brands seeking to evolve authentically, the Spot Whiskey project offers a model: honouring legacy while embracing contemporary culture and inclusive representation.

A shared creative ethos.
At YesColours, we believe paint should do more than decorate. It should connect, inspire and tread lightly on the planet. Using colour science, we reimagine colour as a tool for self-expression, wellbeing and sustainability. Like Spot Whiskey, we are committed to craftsmanship, legacy and lasting quality. This collaboration celebrates the artistry of both brands, where Irish whiskey heritage meets British colour innovation.

“Our belief is that small, everyday decisions around colour can create big, purposeful impact — and we can achieve this through a clearer understanding of how colour shapes perception, emotion, and experiences.”
